How To Get Souls Of Night In Terraria

you need to be in an underground corruption/crimson. most enemies will drop the souls there so it shouldnt take too long

I just create a large open area in the underground crimson/corruption with a platform made out of solid blocks at the top to shield from ichor shots and bats. Make a 1 tile gap(s) in the platform and use something like the nimbus rod to passively farm enemies as you fire down through the gap(s).

Bonus points for having a lava pool at the bottom directly underneath where you're standing. As the kills rack up, place the banners nearby to make the farming go even faster. It's a crude method but it does work. You could also create a cavern house relatively close by and place a pylon for easy access to your farm.

Watch out for Crimson/Corrupt Mimics though. If you build the platform high enough they shouldn't be able to get you.

Go Crimson/Corruption underground and summon King Slime. The slimes he spawns will drop souls as well as himself. Just don't kill him too fast.

if there is any hallow / crimson near hell you can kill hell enemys and still get souls of night / light when standing near it

same with any enemy that is near hallow / crimson underground, such as mushroom biomes surrounded by hallow / crimson will drop their respective souls.

can also probably do this by bringing like 50+ pearlstone or crimstone or any other variant like pearl / crimsand and placing them in the area you want, as long as its underground it'll work.
